Lies lies lies, yeah.

So, 'Two Of Us' ran on VH-1 this week.  What would have happened if John & Paul would have met for a day in 1976...  Hmmm, let's see.  Certainly not this.  Who'd have thought that John was a psychotic asshole and Paul was so on the ball.  Oh, maybe it's because Paul's still alive and can sue for libel.  Man, what a piece of crap.  I mean, I LOVE 'McCartney II', but I wouldn't if the asshole in that movie was responsible for it.  The only thing that would have made this remotely acceptable would have been if they would have written that Grover Washington/Bill Withers song in the second act.  Sweet Bird Of Paradox, indeed!

So, the Super Bowl was a good quarter and the only really good ad was two retards and a monkey, but I had a good time.  I just wish that when they gave Christopher Reeve the ability to walk, they didn't have to shrink his head in the process.

You know, 'Tapestry' IS a pretty incredible record.  And, who can deny the fun of typing Al Cooper and Alice Kooper...

I missed this week's "Freaks & Geeks" due to a plane crash of the California coast.  As this was the (supposed) first episode with timely music references, I will give it another chance.

Capitol has issued "The Beach Boys Greatest Hits, Vol. 3:  The Brother Years."  A good investment.  Aside from the (collector's item makin') fact that there's a typo on the back spine, it's a great buy for the GREAT songs.  Holy moly.  This is some great stuff, folks.  And, 'Kokomo"'s on Vol. 1, so you don't have to worry.

Okay, I'm a year behind (and haven't seen any of the second season yet) but 'The Sopranos' may be the best TV series.  Ever.  Bada-bing.

I thank the Mayor of Lakinland (I hope you've all visited http://www.enoise.com lately) for this week's intriguing inquiries.  I'd make one Question Of The Week©; if I didn't answer them all...
1. Which album would you make sure wasn't recorded?
'A Taste Of Honey.' Then, maybe, the jackass voting members of NARAS would have picked one of the other "Best New Artist" nominees for the Grammy that year:  Toto, The Cars, or Elvis Costello.
2. Which movie would you stop from being made?
'Let It Be.' We might have gotten another album out of the blokes.
3. Which TV personality would you prevent from being born?
If Jim Carrey doesn't count, I'll pick Jenna Elfman.
4. What famous event would you most likely show up at?
    Duh, the
