LEEMail
Suck, baby, suck, give me your head - before you
start professing that you're knocking me dead
Another year, another batch of crummy Oscar nominations.
Whose dick is Tom Hanks sucking? Of course, since
they nominated Ellen Burstyn for her scenery chewing romp
in the worst afterschool special since Good Will
Hunting, they're obviously no concerned with
rewarding good performances. Anyhoo, I was most
disappointed in not seeing nominations for George Clooney
in Oh Brother..., Ken Lonergan
in You Can Count On Me and
Philip Seymour Hoffman in Almost Famous
(possibly the most enjoyable performance of the year).
Question Of The Week 1©: What's the most glaring
omission for this year's Oscar race?
Speaking of awards, Elton's going to sing with Eminem on
the Grammy telecast. Has Elton lost his mind, or do
you think he just wants to blow Em's candle in the wind?
My zeta prestige toupay a floored, indeed!
What? No Temptation Island
on Valentine's Day? Who's brilliant idea was that?
Come on, the chance to watch relationships dissolve
is the PERFECT programming for an evening where people in
relationships hope they're doing everything right, an
people without them lament can rejoice. Nope,
instead we get a giant beaked cow wailing standards for 2
hours. The Final Concert? Let's fucking hope
so.
I'm thoroughly confused by that Land Of The Giants Dodge
truck ad where the enormous trucks, horses and people
narrowly miss their tiny counterparts. If I'm not
mistaken, the wee folks drive Dodge trucks, too. So
what's the point?
Happy Birthday To Thee From LEE This Week©:
02/16/35 Sonny Bono
02/17/41 Gene Pitney
02/19/40 Smokey Robinson
02/19/43 Lou Christie

Favorite Song Of All Time This Week©:
"Nature's Way" - Spirit. Oh hell, every
other song on that damn record, too.
Sweet November. Lemme see.
Keanu Reeves + Charlize Theron + music by Enya = LEE being
really the fuck far away.
Song That Kicked Lee's Ass On The Radio This Week©:
Well, it really wasn't on the radio, but I listened to it
over my car radio... "Caroline" - Robbie
Fulks. Yes, I was perusing through blatantLEE 1988
and rediscovered this ass kick of a gem. That made
me go back and play Let's Kill Saturday Night
over and over. Man, did Geffen drop the ball with
this guy or what? If the folks there woulda been
thinkin', Universal would have ended up with
Geffen/Interscope/A&M.
Speaking of Mr. Fulks, I've been lapse in my duties
as fan/stalker. His new record, 13
Hillbilly Giants, as well as an MP3 of
the Month gig is happening at www.robbiefulks.com. Got
'em on order, so I'll fill you in over the coming weeks.
ExtremeLEE embarrassing...
Favorite Album Of All Time This Week: Phantom
Planet Is Missing - Phantom Planet.
Another one that slipped through the cracks of mergerdom.
Speaking of extreme, went to an XFL Game last week - and,
just as I expected - live's the way to go. My
advice, do what you should be doing with MNF: find a radio
station that's broadcasting the game, turn down the sound
on your set and watch.
Also extreme - It's sad that any of you were too cool to
miss Michael kill that pig.
Kiss Me DeadLEE A Year Ago This Week©:
Ofra Haza, 41. Singer. February 21.
Question Of The Week 2©: What's the best album that
nobody's heard?
